Royal Musical Association Study Day: Identity and Vinyl Culture
University of Birmingham | November 18, 2017
Keynote speaker: Paul Long, Professor of Media and Cultural History, Birmingham City University
Deadline: October 13, 2017
The Royal Musical Association Study Day: Identity and Vinyl Culture takes place Saturday November 18, 2017 at the University of Birmingham: “We welcome postgraduate researchers and practitioners from all areas of music to present their work in an inclusive, accessible and supportive space. The resurgence of vinyl records in a multi-format, multi-channel listening world raises fundamental questions around the development of music technology, accessibility and the social practice of listening.” Potential contributors can find more information here.
Potential contributors are invited to submit abstracts of up to 300 words and a short bio to Karlyn King at [email protected]. The deadline for abstracts is 13th October 2017.
Emails should include your name, email address, affiliation, and the title of your presentation. Please make any particular space, format, or equipment requirements clear in addition to your abstract.
It is hoped that we may be able to offer a contribution towards as many non-funded postgraduate student travel expenses as possible.
