Congress UBC 2019 workshop and showcase

Practice-based researchers and artists affiliated with the IICSI and with the journal Critical Studies in Improvisation/Études critiques en improvisation: (Kevin McNeilly, Sara Ramshaw, Paul Watkins, Tom Sholte, Rebecca Caines, Michelle Stewart, Ellen Waterman, Jing Xia, Kristen Lewis, Bronwyn Mallory, Julia Ulehla, and Aram Bajakian), will present overviews of the many projects, performances, interventions and community partnerships that IICSI research initiative has created and supported, with a particular emphasis on work at and around UBC and Vancouver. After a short break, IICSI members led by Jennifer Wilsey, will lead a massive, open-air Deep Listening exercise, emerging from the work of Pauline Oliveros. The program will conclude with the guided departures of attendees on improvised sound-walks across the campus.
Free and open to everyone.
