Crepuscule: Exhibition Reception & Performances
September 13, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Composer, improviser, and artistic visionary, Douglas R. Ewart returns to Guelph to exhibit artistic works created during his 2015 Improviser-in-Residence and wildly successful Crepuscule event. Crepuscule included a broad combination of community groups and artists organized as “pods” and explored power and unity through various musical interventions. Crepuscule usually takes place near a body of water, trees, or botanical gardens as a means to draw energy from the setting itself.
In collaboration with Musagetes, we are thrilled to have many of the instruments and artistic works from Crepuscule on display at 10C (42 Carden St.) Join us for the opening reception on Thursday Sept 13 (5PM) @10C 42 Carden St. featuring performances by Douglas R. Ewart and vocalist Rita Warford.
The Crespuscule exhibition is part of The Guelph Jazz Festival Colloquium taking place September 12-15th, which features curated panels, speakers, and performances. Hosted by the IICSI, in partnership with the Guelph Jazz Festival, the University of Guelph, and the Art Gallery of Guelph, this year’s Colloquium features curated panels, speakers, and performances, with participants riffing on the interplay among words, music, sound, and song.
