CFP – Musical Improvisation at Land’s End / Coin-du-Banc en folie
August 3, 2019
Register for our Summer Camp
August 3-10 2019, Coin-du-Banc, Québec
Camp Faculty: Marianne Trudel
Guest artists: Jesse Stewart, Ajay Heble, Daniel Fischlin, Kathy Kennedy, and Robin Servant.
The Gaspé coast has been listed by National Geographic as one of the top 20 tourist destinations in the entire world. Nestled in the most easterly tip of the region appropriately known as the Land’s End, and minutes away from the famous Rocher Percé, the coastal village of Coin-du-Banc offers an inspirational and spectacular natural setting for a summer camp devoted to musical improvisation. We contend that where the land ends, imagination begins.
Presented by the IICSI, this summer camp seeks to develop innovative strategies to put aspiring musicians in direct and meaningful contact with professional improvisers.
At this unique summer camp in the Gaspésie, students of all ages will
• participate in hands-on workshops, lectures, and performances.
• work daily with world-class improvising artist Marianne Trudel and guest artists Jesse Stewart, Ajay Heble, Daniel Fischlin, Kathy Kennedy, and Robin Servant.
• perform publicly for diverse and attentive audiences at various events.
• experience the beauty of the Gaspésie.
All musical abilities welcome! Only a sense of musical adventure is needed.
Camp participants will be lodged in a newly-renovated guest house located on the stunningly beautiful Coin-du-Banc beach.
