We are pleased to welcome IICSI’s 2018-2019 postdoctoral fellows to Guelph for the special talk : A Conversation About Practice-Based Methodologies & Collaborations.

Teresa Connors (Memorial University of Newfoundland) will critique her most recent practice-based collaborations that have resulted in a series of nonlinear audiovisual installations exploring the relationship of environment, material, and process.
Leila Qashu (McGill University) will discuss a current collaborative/participatory multimedia project with young Arsi Oromo women in Ethiopia which explores their challenges and strategies for social change.
Thinking Spaces considers the ways in which improvisation can provide us with new ways of thinking and acting. Throughout the year, this group organizes public talks and workshops, as well as reading sessions that may include music, performance, film, academic texts, fiction, etc., based around critical thinking on improvisation.
