….. The Skin and Bones Music Series continues to pioneer musical improv in BC’s Okanagan Valley. On April 24th, Dutch vocalist Jaap Blonk presented his solo composition Dr. Voxoid’s Next Move for voice and electronics, and collaborated with local improvising musicians David Geraghty (guitar), Bjorn van Haalen (percussion), and Darren Williams (saxophone / bassoon).

 

James Viveiros: Melt. Photo by Emily Gan.….. Dance and new sound art merge in Regina May 18th and 20th at the MacKenzie Art Gallery as part of the New Dance Horizons 2018 Season. Clinker (aka Gary James Joynes) presents Soundbursting (Live AV), featuring a 1976 Minimoog synthesizer, and dancer James Viveiros presents Melt, with sound design by Line Katcho.

….. Now online: Sound It Out, hosted by Rachel Elliott and aired on CFRU 93.3 FM (Guelph), has now posted its 74th episode, “We Tellin’ Stories Yo”, an August 2013 conversation between IICSI researcher Paul Watkins and queer Black Canadian dub poet D’bi.young Anitafrika.
