From Indiana University, Monica Herzig announces the first edition of JENRing News: “a regular source of information in the field of jazz research as well as current job opportunities, callouts, and conferences” for the Jazz Education Network Research Interest Group (JENRing). JEN has announced the program for the 7th annual conference in Louisville, KY, January 6-9, 2016 including more than 40 research-related presentations. The initial issue of JENRing News offers articles on pianist/composer Mary Lou Williams, the University of Arizona’s improvising robot, the Linked Jazz jazz history project, and much more.
