Kids Ability KidsAbility

KidsAbility has been an active partner since IICSI was founded, and for many years before that as a partner with ICASP. KidsAbility staff have contributed their expertise, creativity, and logistical support to a range of projects, including the long-running Play Who You Are improvised music workshops; through Play Who You Are, children and youth from KidsAbility have shared generously of their ideas, energy, and talents. These workshops bring professional musicians – often the Improviser-in-Residence – into collaboration with children and youth with a range of abilities; together, the group explore and share their musical sensibilities, skills, and ideas. KidsAbility youth ensembles are frequent and popular performers at the Guelph Jazz Festival. See the IICSI Research Library and ICASP’s Research Collection for documentation and discussion of these workshops.
