Moderated by IICSI researcher Kevin McNeilly, 2018 Guelph Jazz Festival artists: saxophonist Darius Jones joined collaborating vocalist Amirtha Kidambi, and band leader Thanya Iyer for a rare opportunity of knowledge transfer on a panel with a unique perspective on implementing the connection between sound and song.

Drawing on their wealth of experience presenting lyrical material in combination with improvised and composed performances, these panel participants shared their understanding of how sound and song combine and influence each other in the execution of jazz musicking.
