IICSI Graduate Program
PhD program in Critical Studies in Improvisation
We are excited to announce the fifth year of the PhD program in Critical Studies in Improvisation, offered by the University of Guelph and built on years of award-winning, arts-based research and training by the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation.
The program features three core courses (Core Concepts in Critical Studies in Improvisation, Research Practices, and Arts-Based Community-Making), research and teaching assistantship packages, internships with community organizations, and opportunities for students to learn, grow, and develop their practice in their field in a rigorous, energetic, and creative environment. PhD students will also complete a pedagogy lab course and a qualifying exam. They will also have the opportunity to develop independent projects.
