Please see the 2019 Call for Emerging Scholars for the most up-to-date information on this year’s program.

Inspired by an initiative developed by our friends and colleagues at the ArtsEverywhere Festival, and in partnership with the University of Guelph, the Guelph Jazz Festival Colloquium invites students and community members to join the Colloquium’s Emerging Scholars Program. In its inaugural year, this program offers up to ten scholars (from all levels of study), an opportunity to participate in the program and engage with participants in the colloquium.

Selected scholars will receive complimentary attendance at two ticketed Guelph Jazz Festival performances, an intimate 2-hour “emerging scholars breakfast” featuring the opportunity to discuss colloquium topics with panelists, presenters, and other distinguished guests including Lawrence Hill, and an opportunity to publish their writing about the Festival and colloquium insights on the IICSI website.

Emerging scholars will be expected to attend colloquium events (Sept. 12-15, 2018), and to write a short reflection piece on their experience.

Please complete the online form if you’re interested in joining this program.
