Presented by the IICSI, MILE camp seeks to develop innovative strategies to put aspiring young musicians in direct and meaningful contact with professional improvisers, engaging musicians and non-musicians alike in hands-on workshops led by world-class improvising artists.

This year’s session of MILE camp ran August 5-12, culminating in two public events: a performance by camp participants during the Festival Musique du Bout du Monde in Gaspé, and an August 11 public concert featuring camp participants and 2017 camp faculty: François Houle & Marianne Trudel, at the Corner of the Beach Cultural Museum in Gaspé, Québec. The session also featured guest presenters Kathy Kennedy and Robin Servant, and included a concert of solos and duets by Houle and Trudel.
