Improvisation, Intermediality, and Human/Digital Interaction

This collaboration between Guelph and Regina-based IICSI researchers analyzes improvisation in the field of new media art, with particular focus on Canadian works, and aims to develop a new media performance work based on this research.

Team members presented a panel at the Rethinking Intermediality conference in Romania in October 2013, where research was presented on new media art by SK artists Rachelle Viader Knowles and Judy Anderson, and “The Improscaper” – a new smartphone app for improvising with digital image and audio – was launched.
