Distance Education, Learning, & Teaching Support (DELTS)

The Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) is Memorial University’s primary academic support unit for teaching and learning. For more than 50 years, CITL and its predecessor units have supported students and educators through innovation in curriculum design, instructional practice and technology-enabled teaching and learning.

At CITL, all of our work is done to ensure we are living our mission: “We foster a culture of innovation at Memorial University that creates a positive impact on learning experiences.”

Guided by our vision of better learning for all, we collaborate with academic leaders, academic professionals, academic units and learners across Memorial to design engaging courses and programs, create supportive learning environments, advance teaching excellence and support student success. 

From maintaining Brightspace, Memorial’s learning management system, to supporting curriculum renewal, facilitating teaching development and providing academic supports for students, CITL is behind every great class at Memorial.
