“What Will Listening Be Like in the Future?”: Jazz Journalists in Conversation was presented as a roundtable discussion during the 2014 Guelph Jazz Festival Colloquium. The roundtable was moderated by John Corbett (School of the Art Institute of Chicago) and featured Kurt Gottschalk, James Hale, Howard Mandel.

Postcommodity performance (GJFC 2014)

One of three improvised musical performances co-presented by Musagetes, the Guelph Jazz Festival, and IICSI at the 2014 Guelph Jazz Festival. Postcommodity performed nine structured noise-songs from their (then), upcoming LP “We Lost Half The Forest, And The Rest Will Burn This Summer”, a 16-song concept album recounting the ever-cycling decay of a desert drought from the view of its flora and fauna.

During the 2014 Guelph Jazz Festival Colloquium Cauleen Smith presented “Black Utopia LP – A Cauleen Smith Movie” as a keynote address. “Black Utopia LP – A Cauleen Smith Movie” is a double vinyl LP accompanied by 35mm slides synchronized in a live cinematic performance.
