MA and PhD programs in Critical Studies in Improvisation

We are excited to announce the new MA and PhD programs in Critical Studies in Improvisation, offered by the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation through the University of Guelph campus!

The programs feature three core courses (Core Concepts in Critical Studies in Improvisation, Research Practices, and Arts-Based Community-Making), research and teaching assistantship packages, internships with community organizations, and opportunities for students to learn, grow, and develop their practice in their field in a rigorous, energetic, and creative environment. PhD students will also complete a pedagogy lab course and a qualifying exam. Both MA and PhD students will have the opportunity to develop independent projects.

The program enrolled its first full cohort in the Fall of 2019.

The application deadline for next year is February January 15, 2020.

More details about the program and application requirements can be found on the University of Guelph website improv portal www.uoguelph.ca/arts/improv
