Indigenous Peoples' Health Research Centre (IPHRC)
The Indigenous Peoples’ Health Research Centre (IPHRC) is a partnership between the First Nations University of Canada, the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan. We have been awarded funding for research projects from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF).
Our mandate is to develop capacity for community-based Indigenous health research in Saskatchewan and to create networks of Indigenous health researchers regionally, nationally, and internationally. We strive to create an ethical environment in research that supports Indigenous community-based definitions and solutions to health while acknowledging Indigenous models/methods of health and informing government policies and practices.
We are a diverse network of people who are involved in a variety of Indigenous health research projects in Saskatchewan and beyond. Our team is comprised of:

- Numerous community partners around Saskatchewan
We believe in sharing, increasing accessibility and capacity, and empowering all students, researchers and communities committed to Indigenous health research.
We currently operate with funding from a successful SHRF Health Group Grant, Iyiniw-Oskâtisak Pamihisowak: Using Indigenous Knowledge for a Healthier Aboriginal Youth, worth over $750,000 over three years and a CIHR Operating Grant worth $558,457 over three years for Kitinikêwin Misiwanacihisowin: Researching Arts-Based Wellness Promotion for Suicide Prevention Among Aboriginal Youth.
In total, IPHRC has brought in over $5 million worth of Indigenous health research funding to Saskatchewan since 2002.
