UCSB - Centre for Black Studies Research

The University of California, Santa Barbara – Centre for Black Studies Research is one of the six site partners for IICSI; George Lipsitz is Site Coordinator. With deep expertise in collaborative, engaged, and practice-based research, the site runs annual Improvisation Based Engaged Scholarship Programs and carries out a range of projects that challenge conventional divisions between academic and creative work, and that address complex social issues including cultural and individual identities, neighbourhood health, and homelessness.
