In his role as 2017 Improviser-in-Residence, Kade L. Twist is recruiting participants for a project tentatively titled “That’s Just Indians Being Indians.” This project seeks to bring participants of Indigenous and Indian backgrounds together, to collaborate on a generative, socially-engaged sound piece. 

In celebration of its 10th Anniversary, the Adaptive Use Musical Instruments (AUMI) project has also launched a new website at aumiapp.com.

The New Orchestra Workshop (NOW) Society will commemorate their 40th year with performances of new works in a four-day interactive archival and performative installation.

Dr. Caines is a visiting research fellow at the Sonic Arts Research Centre (SARC) in the School of Arts, English and Languages at Queens University, Belfast, starting this October 2017, through August 2018!

IICSI Director Ajay Heble has been invited to give a keynote lecture at “Out of the Blue: From Provisional to Improvisation,” a Symposium with performances, concerts and workshops in German or English, being held October 27-29, 2017, at Haus der Kulturen der Welt , in Berlin, Germany.
